Leland Pinder joined the Action News team as a reporter in December 2023. He grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina and is a proud graduate of the University of North Carolina Wilmington.

It was during a high school internship at a local news station in his hometown that Leland discovered his passion and the career he would pursue. After graduating college, Leland began his journey in broadcast journalism as an assignment editor in Charlotte at what was then known as News14 Carolina, now Spectrum News.

After two years behind the scenes, Leland was able to kick off his reporting career as a "one-man-band" in Eastern North Carolina, eventually taking on weekend anchor duties. Following that foundational and character-building journey, Leland went on to work as a morning anchor at WIS-TV in Columbia, South Carolina, then took as job evening anchor and reporter at WTVR in Richmond, Virginia

Leland is very excited to join the Action News family. He considers it a dream job and an incredible opportunity to work in such a vibrant and historic city with such esteemed broadcast television professionals.

Leland enjoys meeting people with unique backgrounds and experiences that he'd likely otherwise never encounter. Telling their stories is why he loves being a journalist. He is excited to learn more about the issues and stories important to Philadelphians and get to know the people of the Delaware Valley!
